Project Overview
The Abuja Emergency Power Station was one of Geometric Power’s early landmark projects in Nigeria’s power sector.
In 2001, Geometric Power developed a 22MW power plant in Abuja, FCT, which guaranteed the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, the supply of 15MW.
While in operation, the power station successfully supplied uninterrupted electricity to PHCN, formerly the National Electric Power Authority, to serve a dedicated distribution network within Abuja and its environs.
Project Significance
The project demonstrated Geometric Power’s capacity to design, develop, and support practical power generation solutions for critical public and commercial electricity needs.
It also reinforced the company’s position as a pioneer in the Nigerian power industry, showing the potential of independent power development in supporting national infrastructure.
