Flagship Project
An integrated power model designed to unlock Aba’s industrial and economic potential.
The Aba IPP brings together Geometric Power Aba Limited, GPAL, as the generation company, APLE / Aba Power as the distribution utility, dedicated gas supply, and supporting infrastructure to deliver reliable electricity within the Aba ring-fenced area.

The Aba Model
Aba IPP is not just a power plant. It is a complete power ecosystem.
Aba is one of Nigeria’s most important commercial and industrial centres. The Aba Integrated Power Project was developed to address inadequate electricity supply and strengthen the productive capacity of businesses, industries, institutions, and communities in the area.
The project is structured around Geometric Power Aba Limited, GPAL, which owns and operates the generation assets, and APLE / Aba Power, which manages distribution to customers within the Aba ring-fenced area.
Integrated System
The strength of the Aba IPP is its integrated design. Each part of the project supports the other, creating a practical model for reliable electricity delivery.
01
GPAL’s power generation infrastructure is designed to meet real demand within Aba.
02
APLE / Aba Power delivers electricity to customers within the Aba ring-fenced area.
03
Substations, lines, gas supply, and supporting assets strengthen reliability.
04
Reliable electricity supports enterprise, industry, and community growth.
Project Structure
This structure is central to the Aba IPP model. It links generation and distribution within a defined service area, creating a more practical path to reliable electricity delivery.
Generation
GPAL is the generation company responsible for the power generation assets of the Aba Integrated Power Project, including the 188MW Phase I plant.
Distribution
APLE / Aba Power manages the distribution side of the project, delivering electricity to customers within the Aba ring-fenced area.
Infrastructure Built for Aba
The Aba IPP is structured to support the homes, businesses, markets, industries, and institutions that form the economic fabric of Aba.
It reflects Geometric Power’s belief that reliable electricity is not only an infrastructure requirement, but a foundation for production, enterprise, investment, and social progress.
Project Infrastructure
The Aba IPP combines generation capacity, dedicated gas supply, substations, overhead lines, and a ring-fenced distribution structure to support reliable power delivery.
Phase I Generation
Initial generation capacity developed through GPAL.
Planned Capacity
Broader two-phase generation development plan.
Substations
New substations supporting distribution reinforcement.
Gas Pipeline
Dedicated pipeline infrastructure supporting gas supply to the plant.
Overhead Lines
Distribution line infrastructure strengthening power delivery.
Service Area
Ring-fenced electricity delivery area served by APLE / Aba Power.
Industrial Impact
By improving electricity reliability, the Aba IPP supports a stronger environment for manufacturers, small businesses, markets, institutions, and households.
01
Supporting manufacturing, fabrication, processing, and industrial productivity.
02
Helping businesses operate with greater energy confidence and continuity.
03
Improving quality of life through more dependable electricity.
Project Delivery
The Aba IPP reflects coordinated project execution across power generation, power station works, substations, overhead lines, and supporting infrastructure.
